December 2010
"To us a Child is born, to us a Son is given." This verse from Isaiah is the basis of our Christmas program this year entitled "To Us a Child is Born-Christmas Through Isaiah's Eyes." We again have the opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Savior during this wonderful season of Christmas. Immanuel Lutheran School is full of Christmas spirit and joy and has some great events coming up.
On Thursday, December 16th, the school will be leading worship with the annual Christmas program. The program will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please come and hear our chimes, band, and students sing about the birth of our Savior. One of the services will be taped for cable television.
Our preschool classes also have Christmas programs scheduled. The 4-year-olds will have their program on Friday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m., and the 3-year-olds will have theirs on Tuesday, December 14th at 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Brenda Kuhnau will be directing these programs with the assistance of Ms. Cyndi Kramer.
The basketball season is underway and we have home basketball games taking place this month. Please check the calendar for dates and times. You are more than welcome to join us for these fun activities.
Christmas break this year is from Thursday, December 23rd through Sunday, January 2nd. Classes resume Monday, January 3rd. Please contact the child care center if you are in need of services during this period.
You are also welcome to worship at Immanuel Lutheran for Christmas if you do not have a church home. Check the Immanuel website for worship times. Worship services are also broadcast on cable channel 99.
Our prayers are with you that you all have a blessed Christmas season. "And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
In Christ,
Dr. Karen Bahn, Principal
